About Our Entities
The Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW) is the student government on campus. We are funded and supported by student fees, and provide services that directly and indirectly benefit them. There are many ways that the ASUW affects the lives of all students on campus. The following is a brief overview the major groups of the ASUW.
Administration
The Board of Directors is the executive body of the association. They are elected at the end of each academic year for the following year. There are also two hired positions that sit on the Board- the Personal Director as well as the Finance and Budget Director.
The ASUW Student Senate is comprised of students from campus organizations, living groups, and the ASUW diversity commissions. Every week we gather to discuss issues important to students at the University of Washington and establish resolutions of student opinion. These resolutions help guide our elected leaders and dedicated volunteers as they represent us on Shared Governance Committees. All students are welcome to submit legislation for the Senate to debate, and while only Senators may vote, there are openings available for students interested in serving as a term as a Senator.
